Apple was using Apple-Tab in every os since 8. They had the application switcher, a floating pallete. Apple-Tab has existed even before then. I think the only thing that protreon can claim is the translucent icons, but Windows had icons and apple had translucent images for brightness, volume, etc.

Konfabulator is cool in how the widgets are made and the sheer number of them. They are javascript and Konfabulator is a runtime java interpreter. Do a get info on a widget and choose show package contents and check it out... It is more the technology, you know?
