August will most likely be the last month in my switch blog.
The switch is basically complete so the blog will not really required
anymore, I'm not switching anymore now, am I?
The switch has been almost painless, everything I need works.
Bluetooth phone synchronizing, Bluetoooth phone modem dialling, wireless,
OpenGl, printer, scanner (even over the network!), Windows and Mac sharing,
webserving from my Macs (even though I use a provider for the
happymakinggames
website), firewire camera, USB memory keys and harddrives, multi monitor
display even a USB camera (which wouldn't work with WindowsXP).
All the software I require is there, wordprocessing, spreadsheeting,
FTP uploading, HTML editing, Programming IDE (the free Xcode!) text editors,
chat software, all the major browsers and email clients, medai players,
graphics software, SHELL...
No more switching, just using and working.
What next?
I will move over to an infrequent code blog which will be
updated whenever something interesting happens and to an occasional
Apple application or hardware "review".
The real work now really has to start. Familiarise myself more with
Xcode and ween myself from DirectX onto Open* (ie: open standards for
everything). It's been a long time coming, with lots of procrastination!
If only...
I could use my favourite coffee shops as my workplaces...
